We are the successor company to the former potash research institute of the Central German potash industry, which was privatised after reunification as K-UTEC GmbH and was transferred to K-UTEC AG SALT TECHNOLOGIES in 2008 as part of an employee participation initiative. K-UTEC is the abbreviation for "Kali-Umwelttechnik". The company name thus refers both to the historical origin and to the significance of the environment and sustainability in our company.

In accordance with our historical origins, K-UTEC is still based in Sondershausen, the centre of the Central German potash industry, and is of great economic importance for the region of northern Thuringia. Despite this, our current field of activity extends far beyond applications in potash mining and the processing of potash raw materials. Our range of services now includes processing technologies for a large number of technical salts and minerals, which, in addition to potash and magnesium fertilizers, are also used, among other things, for the production of salts of so-called energy metals such as lithium, cobalt and copper.

K-UTEC has also developed geographically from a local company to an internationally recognised and globally active contact partner for all process engineering, as well as analytical, geomechanical and geophysical issues relating to salt. With about 100 employees we develop, plan and test for the raw material industry from all over the world and help our customers from Australia to Chile to successfully implement their projects in the fields of mining and process engineering.
