K-UTEC is a renowned service provider for the global mining and natural resources industry with several decades of experience since 1951. We have unique expertise in extracting and producing inorganic salts and hydroxides of lithium, potassium, magnesium, boron and other alkali, alkaline earth, rare earth and so-called energy metals. Our services cover the entire value chain of raw material projects. We support our clients from the very beginning to the very end: From geophysical exploration and geological resource assessment through chemical and physical process development and planning, including laboratory and pilot-scale testing, supply of key equipment, commissioning and operational optimisation. We also advise our clients on backfilling, geomechanics and mine closure planning.
In all activities, we pay special attention to environmental protection, sustainability and the reduction of waste as well as greenhouse gas emissions. We search for innovative waste-to-value solutions by recycling mining residues in order to reduce the discharges of wastewater into rivers and oceans and to avoid or minimize mine waste piles. To make underground operations as safe as possible, we also offer seismic monitoring equipment and services which are also used in geothermal energy, caverns and the oil and gas sector. Our geophysical exploration team scans the subsurface down to 1000 m for construction projects and protection against geohazards.
